On March 6, 2008 our family experienced a home invasion. We were not prepared. We were asleep in bed when I awoke to the sounds of footsteps throughout the house. I woke up my husband as the guy who broke into our house entered our bedroom and turned on the light switch. He saw us and proceeded to the kitchen where he pulled out our large butcher knife from the drawer. My husband immediately shut our bedroom door and tried to get me out the window. Fortunately the guy left our house at that time without hurting any of us. After that experience we realized that we needed to be prepared in case anything like this ever happened again. We got an alarm system and started looking for the right type of dog for our family. We loved the Bulldog look but wanted a protective dog. We found out about the Alapaha Blueblood Bulldog and without a doubt this breed has proven itself to us. We can once again sleep securely at night.
