As far as I can tell, Alapaha is a town in Berrien County, Georgia, along the Alapaha River. That is were the breed was started, and thus the name Alapaha.
Blue Blood comes from a streak of royalty. They were considered valiant protectors, and would die if necessary, to protect there owners.
Bull dog, well that's just what it is, a bull dog. Interestingly, the wrinkles in the dogs face, were useful, when the dog would bite a bull, the blood would run down the wrinkles and not get into the dogs eyes, that way the dog could hang on longer.
